HVAC Service Supervisor

Department: IT Landes Home Service Team
Location: Harleysville, PA

ROLE: HVAC Service Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HVAC Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all residential HVAC service technicians while maintaining a unified team of employee-owners that can provide a 5-star customer experience and grow the HVAC business. This role will shape our culture, engage our employees, and drive organizational results within the HB Home Service Team. This role serves as a consultant to leadership on HVAC operational related issues. The HVAC Service Supervisor maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, its strategic plans, its culture, and competition. In this role the ability to bring a win-win mentality of building value, exceeding expectations, and bringing resolve to customer and technician experiences will be key.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and support technicians. Approximately 80% of time will be spent on job sites supporting technicians and improving the practice of processes & standards as well as performing service and install work as needed. Remaining time will be reserved for office work for planning, technician meetings, interviews, and customer relations & correspondence.
  • Identify opportunity for growth & develop individual technicians’ growth via onsite training, coaching, assigning trainings and experience building tasks.
  • Manage day to day technician needs including assistance, praise.
  • Inform and train technicians on new procedures, work policies and codes.
  • Monitor and support improvement to technician practices for efficiencies in material and labor usage.
  • Participate in pre-installation customer site visits for replacement jobs, as needed.
  • Ensure positive customer relations that include technician performance issues and technical issues from visits.
  • Assist HVAC Service and Installation Manager in areas of performance of technicians.
  • Perform technical services as needed (service, repair, diagnose, replacing equipment).
  • Perform weekly safety observations.
  • Possess knowledge of OSHA regulations as they pertain to the work of the technicians. Monitor and ensure safe work protocols.
  • Collaborate with HVAC Service and Installation Manager, office, and technician teams to meet the demands of the business.
  • Plan for future improvement of self and team.
  • Actively own and promote our mission statement & core values.
  • Create a 5-star experience for technicians and customers.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance as required for acceptable performance and accountabilities of this position.
  • Responsible for the establishment and ongoing maintenance of an effective system of internal control within the scope of assigned job responsibilities.

MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or completion of G.E.D
  • 10 years of HVAC experience
  • Journeyman HVAC license preferred
  • EPA Certification Levels 1 & 2 required
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
