BAS Controls Installation Foreman

The BAS Controls Installation Foreman Group Coordinator works primarily in a construction setting, leading projects for new buildings and existing building fit outs. They are responsible for the installation of building automation system controls for their assigned project. Our designers and draftsmen provide detailed prints that our Foreman will use to get the work done on time and according to plan. They will be required to work with mechanics, technicians, and trainees to build a high level of teamwork and morale. This position requires technical skills and the ability to lead others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all essential duties required by a BAS Controls Installation Technician
  • Manage all Controls Installers on their assigned projects.
  • Coordinate schedule and manpower requirements with the project manager and controls group coordinator
  • Take ownership of assigned projects, providing site leadership and supervision to include staff management, training, mentoring, and corrective action.
  • Manage the General Contractor relationship, at the field level.
  • Communicate, interact and work effectively with other trades, field support and office staff.
  • Responsible for all jobsite reporting such as, but not limited to, daily reports, Goal Tracking, Manpower Planner, daily safety huddles, Toolbox Talks, and inspection reports.
  • Order materials, manage equipment releases, and assist with material and labor cost projections.
  • Perform material takeoff.
  • Possess the ability to perform math computations needed in the trade.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and cut sheets.
  • Use personal computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone to complete all necessary service-related documentation and paperwork
  • Ensure all project work is within OSHA guidelines and promote building and jobsite safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote a healthy work culture with the ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
  • Possess the ability to use trade tools efficiently and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of certifications.
  • Promote preventive maintenance of company tools and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English, written and verbal
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required. Technical school or relevant work experience, preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a team lead, management or supervisory role
  • Possess operating knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Five or more years of experience specific to DDC controls or low voltage wiring
  • OSHA 30 or the ability to obtain the certification is required.
  • ASHE certification is not required but is a plus.
  • Provide all personal hand tools
  • Valid PA Driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle required
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and background screenings
